Entry Description

The past identity of this 1910 warehouse building fades upon entering its new lobby. The main entrance to the LEED Gold, adaptive-reuse project is reimagined as a modern, minimalist lobby with an LED media art installation that wraps around the perimeter.
Inverted, white LED coves reinforce the architectural aesthetic and create glowing lines that softly illuminate the limestone surfaces. The effect is a carefully modulated background that showcases, but does not overpower the media walls, interacting with the video presentations in an architecturally appropriate manner.
The lobby’s lighting is designed to complement and actively respond to the video panels. The media art’s control system senses the image color, and in turn informs the color and intensity of the architectural lighting. Skillful and precise integration of the lobby’s architectural lighting and media art create a rich, novel experience for the building’s digital tech and media tenants and their clients.
