Completion Date September, 2017
Project Location Reykjavik, Iceland
Entry Description

The new lighting scheme for the Icelandic Government Offices (Stjórnarráðhús) focuses on revealing the building with dignity and coherence to its architecture. However, the lighting installation includes color dynamic features as well, which can project basic but meaningful patterns.
The façade lighting is based on inground LED linear luminaires. The luminaire’s placement is coordination with the window's array. The distance from the wall was calculated to be far enough to distribute the light evenly. Never the less, the luminaires must be close enough to project stripes of lights with different colors. These stripes allow the building to reflect various festive, or commemorating moods.
This lighting installation is control by a hi-tech DMX-DALI system, which allows the building managers to create multiple scenes using a conventional tablet.
