Peter van der Kolk
Peter van der Kolk, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of John Cullen Lighting Limited, is an international business and technology expert in the professional lighting industry. Based in London, Peter has over 20 years international business experience. Peter came over from The Netherlands to the UK in the early 90s as an international exchange student at Middlesex University, where he successfully graduated as a Bachelor in Electronic Engineering and Management. He started his career in the mid 90s in the area of wireless data communication and manufacturing.
Peter held several international business positions including Royal Philips Electronics to roll-out fibre optic networks across Europe, which today are used for Internet, VOIP and Video on Demand services. At the start of the millennium Peter used his experience to move into the professional lighting industry, where today he remains active in developing new business through developing state-of-art LED lighting solutions and services at John Cullen Lighting. For over 6 years he has been contributing as the Chairman of the worldwide digital lighting standard DALI, which today enjoys members across Europe, America and Asia-Pacific.
In 2012 Peter completed his MBA (Technology and Management) and his passion for Technology and Management has continued at John Cullen Lighting where he is growing the company’s unique Lighting Design and Product Development & Manufacturing activities. Recently he expanded the company abroad by setting up a new John Cullen regional office in Dubai.
Peter strongly believes developing the Company’s in-house design and manufacturing competences in the UK aiming to contribute to increasing local knowledge and innovations. He supports society by giving young talent study placement opportunities, through collaborating with universities such as Brunel University.

Mary Louise Geiger is a New York based lighting designer with over 10 years of experience working on Broadway, Off-Broadway, dance, opera, special events, regional theatre, and touring productions. Mary Louise has received honors in lighting design from the Irne Awards 2013, Helen Hayes Awards 2012, Elliott Norton Awards 2012, Isadora Duncan Award Nomination 2011, Aduelco Award Nomination 2006, and many more.

ML Geiger’s performance lighting design work has been seen in numerous New York theatres and production houses, such as the Roundabout Theatre Company, American Airlines Theatre, Primary Stages, the Atlantic Theatre Company, Playwrights Horizons, Mabou Mines, BAM Next Wave Festival, TACT – Beckett Theatre, 59E59, Women’s Project, New York Theatre Workshop, Second Stage, Vineyard Theatre, Worth St. Theatre, Ars Nova Theatre, HERE Theatre, New York Shakespeare Festival, Hopeful Monsters – LaMaMa, and others.
She has also designed ballet and other dance performance lighting stages for the Vail International Dance Festival, Fall for Dance NYC, San Francisco Ballet, the Royal Danish Ballet, The Wheeldon Company, Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia, the Clark Theatre, Lincoln Center, and more. Geiger received her training from Tufts University and her Masters in Fine Art from the Yale School of Drama. Geiger is now the Academic Director at NYU Tisch and an Arts Professor in Lighting Design.
Sara Schonour leads CannonDesign’s lighting Studio. She couples her extensive lighting design experience and knowledge with deep understandings of architectural design and building systems to bring seamless integrated solutions to clients. Sara is active in the lighting design community and is well versed in the role that light can play in the realization of beautiful spaces that are also sensitive to the consumption of energy and natural resources.

Nelson Jenkins is an award-winning lighting designer whose consultancy practice, involvement in the professional community, and passion for teaching inspire his creative work in the ever-evolving field of lighting design. Since founding Lumen Architecture in 2005 as a comprehensive lighting design consultancy, he has worked on a variety of prestigious projects throughout the world.
The vast diversity of these projects has enabled him to hone his expertise in the poetic use of light, for which he and his consultancy have won several awards for design excellence. He compliments his professional experience with teaching at Parsons the New School, and also lectures internationally.
His work has been featured in numerous magazines and trade publications, where he is regularly cited as an authority on a range of lighting-related topics. He obtained degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design, and lives in New York City.

Jurgen Chemelli is the CEO of Province Lighting which he founded in 1987.
Born and raised in Austria, he was transferred to South Africa by lighting company Zumtobel and ran their sales division in Cape Town before starting Province.
The company has since grown to have branches in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Windhoek, Namibia with more expansion planned in the near future. A demand for Building Management Systems and energy saving solutions saw the company opening their own Automation department and investing in an LED factory.
With a dynamic, professional and service driven approach to business, Jurgen has seen much success servicing many prestigious projects including airports, stadiums, hotels and retail developments not only in South Africa but also on the greater African continent.
His eagerness to keep up with the latest technology gives him the ability to offer clients the best solutions for their projects. He continues to pass his knowledge onto all that work with him.

Laureate of the National Russian Award in Literature and Arts (Nomination “Architecture and design”, 2014). Head of CLD ITMO University, creative association of lighting designers RULD, International Laboratory Lighting Design in an Urban Environment and Art & Science Institute at ITMO University. Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the international research-to-practice conference “Lighting Design”. One of the leading Russian experts in the field of lighting design, art & science and innovative interactive technology.
Christopher Dubba is a retired professional with 36 years of rich experience in various functions. He started his career as a SUPPLY CHAIN Specialist in 1980 and served six big corporates; the last of which was in Crompton Greaves Ltd., a MNC in their Consumer Products Business unit after 20 years of meritorious service.
Dubba joined them as Materials Manager and grown to Vice President and was heading their Lighting manufacturing units at Baroda and Baddi for eight years. He was the member of the core team of CG’s Consumer Business unit and was credited with turning around their manufacturing units into profits. Dubba has travelled as a specialist in Global Sourcing and LCCS and was on the special committees of ELCOMA and ET 23 of BIS for several years involving himself in standards’ formulation etc..
Presently with ELCOMA as General Manager for the last five months with the objective of being connected with and give back to Lighting Industry; which he passionately worked for over 30 years. ELCOMA, representing the Indian lighting industry, aims to act as an important link to support each other in matters connected with lighting industry, to promote and develop co-operation among the manufacturers of electric lamps and components and to further facilitate the overall interests of its members.
Adele Locke founded MINT Lighting Design in 2012 with the vision of bringing professional architectural lighting design to family and forever homes. As a leading specialist in Residential Lighting design, MINT has transformed hundreds of homes and lives with light.
Adele is the Immediate Past President of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand Ltd (IESANZ); her term as the first female and youngest President of the Society ran from 2014 – 2017. She has broad experience in commercial lighting design and has chosen to specialize in homes because everyone deserves to live with beautiful, functional and sustainable light. She recently authored a book promoting the value of authentic design in lighting.

Isac Roizenblatt is Technical Director of the Brazilian Lighting Industry Association (ABILUX), coordinator in the Brazilian National Standardization Association of Technical Committee 34—Lamps and related equipment, represents ABILUX in the National Energy Saving Program, reporter of the National Commission of Lamp Disposal, consultant of Pro Light and Energy Consultants and lecturer in several courses. Prior to the current activities has been working in lighting industry in several positions for many years in Brazil and Latin American countries. Roger Narboni is an award winning independent French lighting designer, who launched a new discipline called Light Urbanism in 1987. In 1988, he established his practice, CONCEPTO lighting design studio, near Paris. During his more than 30 years of practice, he has realized more than 130 lighting master plans and numerous landscape, urban, and architectural lighting projects in France and abroad. Recognized as a leading expert on lighting master planning and city lighting strategies, he regularly teaches and lectures at conferences around the globe including the Professional Lighting Design Conference, the CLD ITMO University Lighting Conference, Lighting Up Jerusalem and many others.
CONCEPTO is internationally known for its expertise in light urbanism and lighting master plans, nightscape, urban and architectural lighting, natural lighting, interior lighting, and design of light furniture. Roger Narboni is also an author on lighting design, having published Lighting The Landscape in 2016. The lighting projects featured in his book include road lighting, square & park lighting, architectural façade lighting, bridge lighting and furniture lighting schemes, each with detailed plans, diagrams, sketches to demonstrate the lighting techniques involved.

Ziad Fattouh, Managing Director and Partner of Delta Lighting Solutions began his education in Civil Engineering while living in Canada. Furthering his studies, he went on to obtain a BA in Business Management from Boston University. Ziad then began his design career while working for the ad agency, Saatchi and Saatchi. Managing the creative process with multiple design teams paved the way for future opportunities in the field of design.
In 1998, Ziad began focusing more toward construction and architecture while working for Delta Co. Ltd, which provided design/build lighting solutions for projects in Oman. During this time, Ziad managed a team of eighty-five staff including designers and engineers as well as a technical staff of over two hundred. While at Delta Co, Ltd., he assumed a dual role as Creative Director as well as Business Manager.
He co-founded Delta Lighting Solutions in Dubai in 2000, and has since managed and designed the lighting for numerous high end hotel projects, resorts, retail centers and malls as well as high-rise residential and commercial towers and full city masterplans. His commitment to excellence has proven valuable to the company, which has received numerous awards and design related award nominations. As a result of his hard work and commitment, Delta Lighting Solutions is now active throughout the entire Middle Eastern region.
